Tiger caps lackluster Hero World Challenge with final-round 73
A frustrating week in the Bahamas is over for Tiger Woods, who shot a final-round 73 on Sunday to finish in second-last place at the Hero World Challenge.
Tiger began Sunday's round at the bottom of the leaderboard and posted a 4-over front nine to fall even further back. However, with only pride to play for, he ended his day strong by rattling off four birdies.
"I just always compete. It was not very pretty on that front nine," Tiger said afterward.
"I haven’t done a very good job of playing well, but it was nice to finish off on that back nine and actually do something positive," he added.
Woods' 1-over showing at Albany Golf Course will be his last competitive round of 2018, a year he described as "incredible."
"Just so blessed and so thankful to have had the opportunity to have everything turn my way."
Tiger played in 19 events plus the Ryder Cup in 2018 and won his 80th PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship in September.
