New York Knicks owner James Dolan won't be fined by the NBA for acknowledging that Knicks fans want Duke freshman Zion Williamson, league sources told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

Dolan told Newsday Sports' Colin Stephenson on Monday that he's against the notion of tanking, but said the Knicks faithful "want us to get this kid out of Duke (Zion Williamson)."

The league determined Dolan indirectly referred to Williamson through the fan base, thus a fine wasn't warranted, a league source told Bondy.

This isn't the first time the club has made a questionable statement regarding a collegiate prospect.

Ex-Knicks president Phil Jackson was fined in 2015 for saying D'Angelo Russell was a "great-looking kid" and "great prospect."
