Koepka rips Garcia's outburst: 'To act like a child out there is not cool'
"It's frustrating as a player to see, to act like that, to disrespect everybody," Koepka said on the "Playing Through" podcast, according to co-host Brian Wacker of Golf Digest. "To act like a child out there is not cool. It's not setting a good example and it's not cool to us, showing us no respect or anybody else."
Garcia was disqualified from this past weekend's event for deliberately damaging multiple greens. The 39-year-old apologized and did not face further discipline for his actions. Koepka said there were no issues with the course that might have triggered Garcia's actions.
"That's just Sergio acting like a child," he reiterated. "It's unfortunate that he's got to do that and complain. Everybody's got to play the same golf course. I didn't play very good, but you didn't really see anybody else doing that. You're 40 years old so you gotta grow up eventually."
Dustin Johnson won the event by two strokes with a final-round 67.
"Dustin didn't have a problem with (the course)," Koepka pointed out.
Koepka was playing two groups in front of Garcia but didn’t know what happened until afterward, according to Wacker.
