Ex-Alabama LB Eryk Anders bans Drake from rooting for Crimson Tide
Former Alabama linebacker and current UFC fighter Eryk Anders wants Drake to distance himself from the Crimson Tide following their national championship loss to Clemson.
Drake is a big sports fan, but he's also gained a reputation for being a bandwagoner who brings bad luck to the teams he supports. Many Alabama fans blamed the rapper for the team's loss after he was spotted wearing a Crimson Tide sweatshirt ahead of Monday's game.
"I don't think there's a bigger bandwagon fan out there than Drake himself, you know," Anders told TMZ Sports. "I don't know what it is, but it just seems like everything he touches - with the exception of (UFC fighter) Max Holloway - everything seems to come to a sudden halt and just crashes and explodes. It's okay for him to wear Tennessee and Notre Dame gear, but never again is he allowed to wear Bama."
Anders tweeted Monday that he wanted to fight Drake.
"It's all fun and games, it was just a joke. But I really do got some heat for Drake right now," Anders said.
Anders played for the Crimson Tide from 2006-09, winning a championship in his final season.
