Alabama's Jonah Williams, Quinnen Williams, Josh Jacobs, Irv Smith declare for NFL Draft
Four Alabama Crimson Tide players are moving up to the next level.
Offensive lineman Jonah Williams, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, running back Joshua Jacobs, and tight end Irv Smith Jr. officially declared for the NFL Draft on Friday, according to a release from Alabama.
All four are perceived to be high draft picks come April. The Sporting News mock draft has Quinnen Williams going No. 2 and Jonah Williams at No. 3 overall. Jacobs and Smith are expected to go in the first three rounds of the draft as well.
Friday's news indicates that Alabama safety Deionte Thompson and defensive tackle Raekwon Davis, both projected first-round selections, will be staying in Tuscaloosa for another season.
Quinnen and Jonah Williams were both selected as first-team All-Americans, with the former taking home the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's best interior lineman in 2018. Jacobs had 887 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns in his junior season. Smith was fourth on the team with 710 receiving yards and had seven touchdowns while serving as the team's primary tight end.
