• Former TODAY co-anchor Tamron Hall is collaborating with Disney to develop her own talk show.
  • Tamron abruptly left NBC in February 2017 after losing her 9 a.m. time slot to Megyn Kelly.
  • The Tamron Hall show will debut on September 9, 2019.

As promised, Tamron Hall is returning to daytime TV this upcoming fall. The former TODAY and MSNBC anchor has teamed up with Disney to bring her vision to life – a self-titled show fostering interesting, in-depth conversations about a variety of topics.

What will Tamron Hall be about?

It will be a daytime talk show, apparently set up similar to the Oprah Winfrey Show and Phil Donahue Show, according to Variety.

The 48-year-old journalist will likely mix in-depth stories with lifestyle segments, as she's looking to bring together her experience from different projects in one spot. According to producers, it "will be a daily destination for all things topical and a platform for viewers to connect with the people who are shaping our world."

Executive producer Bill Geddie teased what's to come in an interview with Deadline: On that day [the show's premiere], everyone will learn what I already know, that Tamron Hall is the real thing we’ve been searching for in daytime talk. Tamron will bring her abundant wit, style, intelligence and warmth to her show. She has the unparalleled breadth of experience to talk and listen to all sides and bring folks together.”

"What most of the [shows] out there have in common are variety and a lighter energy. We think we can be that while also being compelling and informative," Tamron said, according to BroadcastingCable.com. "When you think about traditional daytime television, the kind we all fell in love with, in the course of five days you laughed with someone, cried with someone, maybe bought a book and learned something. Right now, we believe there’s not one show that’s doing that."

When is Tamron Hall going to premiere?

Tamron's show will be joining the fall 2019 daytime talk show lineup, sharing airtime with Good Morning America, LIVE With Kelly and Ryan, Rachael Ray, and The View.

On March 4, Tamron announced that the show will debut in syndicated markets on September 9, 2019. (And yes, that's the same day that Kelly Clarkson's show is set to debut.) The exact time is TBD but it's predicated to air anywhere from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to Jed Cohen, executive vice president and general sales manager, U.S. content sales and distribution, Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International.

And with the premiere of her show inching closer and closer (almost five months away!), the mom-to-be demanded more women to be part of it.

“When I came to [an early] meeting to discuss my new show ... there were only men in the room,” she said, according to Page Six. “And I had to say, ‘Sorry to tell you, but we are going to have a lot of women on staff. Sorry, but I don’t want to just talk to you men all day. We need some women in here.’”

Another reason why we LOVE Tamron.

How can I watch the Tamron Hall show?

Viewers will be able to watch it on eight stations:

  • WABC New York
  • KABC Los Angeles
  • WLS Chicago
  • WPVI Philadelphia
  • KGO San Francisco
  • KTRK Houston
  • WTVD Raleigh-Durham, N. C.
  • KFSN Fresno, Calif.

The show will also be seen on stations belonging to Hearst Television, Cox Media Group, Sinclair Broadcast Group, the E.W. Scripps Co., Meredith Corp., Tribune, Gray, and Nexstar, among others. As of right now, the show will be available in 47 out of the top 50 syndicated markets.

Bill Geddie has signed on to produce.

On January 22, Tamron announced that the one-hour show will have Bill Geddie as its executive producer. Best known for co-creating The View, Bill has more than two decades of experience in the industry. He's previously worked with Barbara Walters acting as executive producer, writer, and director for The Barbara Walters Specials and The 10 Most Fascinating People.

"When you’ve spent your career in daytime television, you know the real thing when you see it," Bill said, according to Deadline.com. "[Tamron] has a voice that ought to be heard and is exactly what daytime needs right now. This is the most exciting thing I've done since launching The View."

Fans are beyond excited about Tamron's return.

Tamron already has supporters from all over the country, who have been patiently waiting for her comeback. "You deserve to be surrounded by nothing but the best! A fantastic team in the making … Cheering you on!” one person tweeted. “My mom and I keep talking about this show … We can’t wait to watch and DVR!” another wrote.
