Russell Westbrook has the ninth-highest chances of winning the 2018-19 MVP award in the most recent set of odds, according to the Bovada sportsbook.

Westbrook is a distant ninth in the latest odds while Giannis Antetokounmpo is first with Anthony Davis second and LeBron James in third rounding out the top three.

Westbrook is averaging 22.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 9.5 assists and two steals per game this season while he is shooting 46.8 percent from the floor, including 22.4 percent from 3-point range.

The voters tend to lean toward naming a first-time winner for the award unless a player posts a monstrous season so Westbrook’s chances of winning his second MVP trophy are likely small.

Westbrook currently ranks 17th in the NBA in scoring, 21st in rebounding, second in assists and is sixth in steals so far this season.
