Mandy Moore celebrates birthday with ‘Wild Wild Country’-themed trip
Have Mandy Moore and her friends become sannyasins?
The “This Is Us” star and her group of female friends — including co-star Susan Kelechi Watson, Emily Schuman and Minka Kelly — traveled to California’s Big Sur to celebrate Moore’s birthday … and ended up color-coordinating in the style of Rajneeshpuram’s devoted citizens.
Moore, who turned 34, shared photos of her friends dressed in shades of maroon and joked that they were inspired by the Netflix documentary “Wild Wild Country,” which followed the growth and development of Bhagwan’s cult in Oregon.
“I’m not sure there’s a way to top our girls weekend at @ventanabigsur (one of my most favorite places ever) but we’ve decided to aim for it to become an annual tradition,” she captioned a series of photos. “The walk in the redwoods, the poolside chats, the endless laughs, the food, the wine…..We lived our best lives and I’m left blown away by my friends and our good fortune to be able to share these moments together.
“#bestweekendever #bigsur #yesourcolorpalettewasinspiredbyrajneeshpuram,” she joked.
Chase Weideman, the only male on the trip, also shared a picture of some of the group posing in maroon in front of a giant cowboy billboard. “California highway road trip to antelope chapter 1. Done.,” he wrote, referring to the town that became Rajneeshpuram.
Though the group wore its fair share of maroon, they also changed into bright yellows, oranges, greens and pinks.
