While Redskins quarterback Alex Smith is in the hospital battling an infection in his broken leg, a familiar face was near by.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Smith was in a room next to Colt McCoy, who stayed at the hospital for one night after breaking his fibula against the Eagles on Monday.

More on #Redskins QB Alex Smith: He’s had several procedures, sources say, and @MikeGarafolo adds they are removing tissue to clear the infection. Smith still approaches this with optimism about playing. Note: His hospital room was next to Colt McCoy’s during McCoy’s 1-night stay

While there is no word of whether or not the two Washington quarterbacks interacted or not during their overlapping stay, I’m sure that if they did, there was a lot of commiserating.
