- Meghan Markle's early-morning texts to staff have reportedly caused "great umbrage and offense."
- Meghan reportedly gets up at 5:00 am, gets on her treadmill, and starts messaging her staff "about things for that day."
Remember back in November when lol-worthy news broke that Meghan Markle was texting her staff at the crack of dawn every day? Allow me to refresh your memory: The Daily Mail reported that according to a palace insider, Meghan wakes up at 5:00 am every morning and immediately starts getting in touch with staff. To quote the circa 2018 source:
"It is said palace staff have never experienced anything remotely like Meghan’s formidable work ethic, matched only by the incessant stream of ideas about how to shape her role. Well-meaning as she is, her particular brand of ‘up and at ’em’ West Coast energy is an uncomfortable fit with the more formal ethos of some palace staff."
Okay, so flash-forward to right now, and apparently Meghan's early texts are doing more than simply leaving staff shook. People are ~offended~.
In TLC's Meghan & Harry: A Royal Baby Story, royal expert Ashley Pearson says that Meghan's "barrage" of early-morning texts are causing tension in her staff, saying "Meghan gets up early, five o’ clock in the morning oftentimes. She gets on the treadmill or whatever and starts texting her team members about things for that day. Probably in her mind she’s just kind of getting her day set up. But Royal staff members were certainly not expecting or happy to start getting a barrage of text messaged instructions starting at 5.30 every morning-and took great umbrage and offense at that."
That said, Meghan doesn't seem to have meant "great umbrage and offense" and "was a bit shocked, certainly, that within the royal family there’s a whole different protocol when it comes to speaking to staff."
Sounds like a misunderstanding and no bigs, tbh! Agree?
