Customers are suing chain restaurants for allegedly serving lettuce that had been tainted with E. coli. Lawsuits against chains include Red Lobster, Panera, and Papa Murphy's. The E. coli outbreak has sickened at least 121 people in 25 US states. At least two lawsuits were filed against Panera. One woman was hospitalized and required blood transfusions after consuming lettuce at the chain. Panera said in a statement on its website that it had removed all romaine from the Yuma, Arizona area.
