Just hours after Toronto FC lifted the MLS Cup, the league's trade window opened for a half-day in anticipation of the MLS expansion draft, leading to a flurry of early movement — and clubs have since continued to make waves with blockbuster deals.

Red Bulls sign Kaku as designated player
Feb. 16: The New York Red Bulls have signed Argentine playmaker Alejandro "Kaku" Romero Gamarra from Club Atletico Huracan.
A former Argentina youth international, Gamarra joins the Red Bulls as the first young designated player in club history.
Toronto signs Aketxe from Athletic
Feb. 16: Toronto FC has signed Spanish midfielder Ager Aketxe from Athletic Bilbao, sources have confirmed to Goal .
The 24-year-old has joined TFC on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal with the MLS Cup champions, with Athletic possessing a buy-back option.
TFC adds former NYRB goalkeeper
Feb. 14: Toronto FC has announced the signing of 30-year-old goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell.
The Canadian club traded for the his MLS rights, sending a fourth-round draft pick to the New York Red Bulls.
Patterson-Sewell played for Jacksonville Armada FC in the NASL last year.
Toronto lands Brazilian defender
Feb. 13: Toronto FC has announced the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian defender Auro on loan with an option to buy from Sao Paulo FC.
“Auro is a young and versatile defender that will provide us with flexibility within our line-up, both on the left and right side,” said Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a club release. “We are pleased to bring him in on a loan deal with an option to buy for the future.”
The defender has represented Brazil at both the U-17 and U-20 youth levels.
D.C. United acquires Yamil Asad
Feb. 13: D.C. United has completed a trade with Atlanta United for the rights to winger Yamil Asad, the two MLS sides announced on Tuesday.
Asad spent 2017 on loan from Argentina Superliga club Velez with the expansion MLS side during its debut season.
MNUFC signs Cameroon international
Feb. 13: Minnesota United has announced the signing of Cameroon international defender Bertrand Owundi Eko’o on a free transfer from Rainbow FC.
The club also recently signed another Cameroonian, Frantz Pangop, and Owundi joins him as part of an offseason push from the club to add more youth.
“The thing we’ve tried to do this offseason is bring in some younger players who we feel have a chance of progressing and being big pieces for us moving forward,” said manager Adrian Heath in a team statement. “For what we’ve got these kids for salary-wise, what we’ve had to give up, we think we’ve done really well. We’re excited about what we’ve got with him and Pangop. We felt it wasn’t a gamble, but an opportunity to bring in two young pieces for not a lot of financial output that we think have got huge upside.”
FC Dallas signs Mosquera as young DP
Feb. 12: FC Dallas has announced the acquisition of Santiago Mosquera as a young designated player.
Mosquera, 23, joins from Colombian first division side Millonarios FC, and can play multiple positions across midfield.
Timbers sign forward from Serie A
Feb. 9: The Portland Timbers have acquired forward Samuel Armenteros from Serie A side Benevento.
Armenteros, 27, joins on loan for the 2018 campaign with an option to buy.
The Swedish international has also played in the Netherlands with Heracles, for Belgian power Anderlecht and with Qarabag FK of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
Revs add pair of defenders
Feb. 9: The New England Revolution have added defensive depth by signing Jalil Anibaba and Nicolas Samayoa, who were both in camp as trialists.
Anibaba, 29, adds a veteran presence and has represented Chicago, Seattle, Sporting Kansas City and Houston in his MLS career.
Samayoa, 22, was a fourth-round pick in the 2018 SuperDraft after spending four seasons at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Rapids trade for Dykstra
Feb. 8: The Colorado Rapids have completed a trade for Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra.
In return, Sporting KC gets Colorado's natural second-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
"Andrew provides us with important depth at the goalkeeping position," said Rapids general manager Padraig Smith in a team release. "Alongside Tim Howard and Zac MacMath, Andrew joins one of the very best goalkeeping units in Major League Soccer and we look forward to welcoming him to Colorado."
RSL signs Croatian midfielder
Feb. 7: Real Salt Lake has signed Croatian midfielder Damir Kreilach from Union Berlin using targeted allocation money.
The 28-year-old scored 33 goals in 147 matches for the German side over the last five seasons.
D.C. United lands Oniel Fisher
Feb. 7: D.C. United has landed Jamaica international defender Oniel Fisher in a trade with the Seattle Sounders.
Both clubs confirmed the move, with the Sounders picking up $50,000 in general allocation money in the deal.
Sporting KC signs Chile international as DP
Feb. 6: Sporting Kansas City has announced the signing of Chilean international midfielder Felipe Gutierrez as a designated player.
Gutierrez, 27, joins from La Liga side Real Betis, and has been capped 35 times by his country.
Fire sign Katai from Alaves
Feb. 6: The Chicago Fire have announced the acquisition of Serbian international Aleksandar Katai on loan from La Liga side Deportivo Alaves.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who spent a season and a half in Spain, joins with a purchase option at the end of the season.
LAFC confirms Kaye signing
Feb. 5: Los Angeles FC has announced the signing of Canada international Mark-Anthony Kaye.
Goal reported last week that the expansion side was on the verge of acquiring the 23-year-old midfielder from USL side Louisville City, with LAFC confirming the deal Monday.
"Mark-Anthony is an exciting player who has shown creativity and good football both at Louisville City and at the international level," LAFC coach Bob Bradley said in a news release. "He gives our club another talented option as we build our roster for the season."
Timbers sign Paredes on loan
Feb. 2: The Portland Timbers have announced the signing of midfielder Cristhian Paredes on loan from Liga MX side Club America.
The deal for the 19-year-old central midfielder, who has one cap for the Paraguay national team, includes an option to buy.
Paredes moved from Paraguay Primera Division side Club Sol de America to Club America in 2017 but made just two Copa MX starts for the Liga MX giants.
Crew sign former U.S. international Clark
Feb. 2: The Columbus Crew have signed free agent defensive midfielder Ricardo Clark.
Clark, 34, has played 10 of his 13 seasons in MLS with the Houston Dynamo.
Clark has received 33 caps for the U.S. national team but has not made an international appearance since 2012.
Red Bulls add Venezuela youth international
Feb. 2: The New York Red Bulls have signed teenage midfielder Cristian Casseres Jr. from Venezuelan first division side Deportivo La Guaira.
Casseres, 18, played 13 games in the Venezuela top division in 2017, scoring one goal.
Casseres has featured for the Venezuela youth national teams but has yet to receive a senior cap.
Ruiz signs with Real Salt Lake
Feb. 2: Real Salt Lake has announced the signing of midfielder Pablo Ruiz from San Luis of Chile's top division.
The 19-year-old played in 10 games in 2017 for San Luis, starting seven.
The Argentina-born Ruiz represented his birth nation as a youth international but is set to play for Chile on the senior level.
Orlando City gets Tarek on loan
Feb. 2: Orlando City has announced the signing of center back Amro Tarek on loan with an option to buy from Wadi Degla of the Egyptian Premier League.
Tarek, 25, was in his first year with Wadi Degla, making 11 appearances for the club. He spent the previous season with Egyptian side Enppi Club.
Toronto FC signs van der Wiel
Feb 1: Toronto FC has confirmed the signing of right back Gregory van der Wiel from Italian club Cagliari.
The Dutch international has also played for Ajax, PSG and Fenerbahce, and started the 2010 World Cup final for his country.
Sporting KC lands Russell
Jan 31: Derby County has confirmed that midfielder Johnny Russell will complete a move to Sporting Kansas City.
The 27-year-old spent four-and-a-half seasons at Pride Park Stadium, making 203 appearances and scoring 34 goals.
Red Bulls add Rzatkowski on loan
Jan 31: The New York Red Bulls have signed German midfielder Marc Rzatkowski on a season-long loan from sister club Red Bull Salzburg.
The 27-year-old spent a season and a half in Austria after moving from German second-division side St. Pauli.
"We are glad to have Marc on board,” head coach Jesse Marsch said in a club release. “He brings experience to our locker room and can play in different positions within the midfield. He has qualities that we like and a personality that we think fits well within our group."
Zizzo signs with Atlanta as free agent
Jan 30: Atlanta United has announced the signing of veteran right back Sal Zizzo as a free agent.
Zizzo, 30, spent the last three seasons with the New York Red Bulls and has made more than 160 career MLS appearances.
Sounders sign Norwegian playmaker
Jan 30: The Seattle Sounders made use of TAM to bring in Norwegian attacking midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem.
Eikrem spent the last three seasons with Malmo and is consider primarily an attacking midfielder.
The 27-year-old spent time in the Manchester United youth system and has experience with the likes of Cardiff City and Heerenveen.
Carmona moves to Colo-Colo
Jan 30: Carlos Carmona has left Atlanta United, with the club selling the midfielder to Chilean side Colo-Colo, the MLS outfit announced on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old signed with the MLS side last February and made 30 league starts for the expansion team in 2017.
While Carmona is gone, Atlanta did sign free agent right-back Sal Zizzo.
Orlando acquires Oriol Rosell
Jan 30: Orlando City has announced the acquisition of midfielder Oriol Rosell from Portuguese side Sporting CP.
In order to sign Rosell, Orlando sent $400,000 in targeted allocation money to FC Dallas to move up to the No. 1 spot in the allocation order.
Larin move to Besiktas confirmed
Jan 30: Cyle Larin has finally completed his move from Orlando City to Besiktas after a drawn-out saga.
The 22-year-old striker initially underwent a physical with the Turkish side against Orlando City's wishes, but the clubs have now come to an agreement over a transfer for the Canada international.
Harrison signs with City, joins Boro on loan
Jan 30: Manchester City has signed Jack Harrison from sister club New York City FC and immediately loaned the winger to Middlesbrough.
The 21-year-old England youth international will net NYCFC a $6 million transfer fee in a deal that also includes performance bonuses and a sizable sell-on clause.
LAFC signs Jakovic
Jan 30: Los Angeles FC has announced the acquisition of Canada international center back Dejan Jakovic.
The 32-year-old spent 2017 with the New York Cosmos of the NASL. Jakovic made 111 appearances with D.C. United between 2009 and 2013.
Crew trade Meram to Orlando City
Jan 29: The Columbus Crew have traded winger Justin Meram to the Orlando City for allocation money and an international roster spot.
Columbus receives $750,000 in targeted allocation money and $300,000 in general allocation money. The Crew will also receive a 2019 international player slot from Orlando.
Rapids sign defender Wilson from Rangers
Jan 29: The Colorado Rapids have signed Scottish defender Danny Wilson from Rangers.
A 26-year-old center back, Wilson joins former Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith in headlining an overhauled Rapids defense entering the 2018 season.
Crew sign Argentina youth international
Jan 26: The Columbus Crew have signed Argentina youth international Milton Valenzuela on loan from Newell's Old Boys with an option to buy.
Valenzuela, 19, will be classified as a "young designated player" during the 2018 campaign.
Quakes sign 15-year-old homegrown
Jan 26: The San Jose Earthquakes have announced the signing of 15-year-old midfielder Gilbert Fuentes to a homegrown contact.
Fuentes, who has represented the United States at the U-15 and U-17 level, becomes the second-youngest player in MLS, behind Gianluca Busio of Sporting KC.
Barcelona signs Ballou from Impact
Jan 25: Barcelona has secured the signing of 18-year-old attacker Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla from the Montreal Impact of Major League Soccer.
Ballou will join Barcelona B, and has a €25 million release clause that will be bumped up to €75M should he sign an extension with the club.
Dynamo sell Torres to Pumas
Jan. 24: Houston Dynamo designated player Erick "Cubo" Torres has been purchased by Pumas, the Liga MX club announced Wednesday.
Torres, who turned 25 earlier this month, led the Dynamo in scoring last season but fell off in the second half of the year and lost his starting spot.
The forward, who has six Mexico caps, had been linked with Veracruz earlier in the offseason but has landed in Mexico City to back up Nicolas Castillo.
LAFC signs Honduras goalkeeper Lopez
Jan. 24: Los Angeles FC has announced the signing of Honduras national team goalkeeper Luis Lopez.
The 24-year-old Lopez, who was his national team's starter for the 2017 Gold Cup, comes over from Honduran side Real Espana, where he had spent the past five seasons.
Lopez will likely battle with expansion-draft selection Tyler Miller, also 24, for the No. 1 spot.
Timbers sign trio
Jan. 24: The Portland Timbers have signed midfielder Andres Flores and defender Modou Jadama, and re-signed defender-midfielder Bill Tuiloma.
Flores, 27, played four seasons under Timbers coach Giovanni Savarese with NASL side New York Cosmos, and Jadama, 23, spent 2017 with USL side Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
Tuiloma, 22, joined the Timbers in 2017 and made 11 appearances for T2, the club's USL affiliate.
TFC re-signs Zavaleta
Jan. 23: Toronto FC has re-signed Eriq Zavaleta, the club announced Tuesday.
The defender played 36 times across all competitions for Toronto in 2017.
"Since joining Toronto FC, Eriq has developed into a core member of this team as well as a leader both on and off the field,” Toronto general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in news release. "He has been an important part of our club for the past few years and we are happy to ensure he is back this season as we defend our championships."
Zavaleta was originally picked up in a trade with the Seattle Sounders in 2015.
Rimando re-signs with RSL
Jan. 23: Veteran goalkeeper Nick Rimando has inked a new contract with Real Salt Lake that will keep him with the team for a 12th MLS season.
Portland trades for USYNT midfielder
Jan. 23: The Portland Timbers have announced the acquisition of U.S. youth international midfielder Eryk Williamson from D.C. United.
Williamson is a DCU academy product, but did not come to an agreement with his local club on a homegrown contract.
Kovar loaned to LAFC
Jan. 23: The Seattle Sounders have loaned winger Aaron Kovan to LAFC for the 2018 season.
The 24-year-old has made 44 appearances with the Sounders in four years with the club.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Aaron to gain playing experience and further his development as a player with exposure to another club," Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwey said in a team release. "LAFC provides a new, competitive environment for Aaron and we feel this loan benefits all parties."
Revs sign Ecuadorian attacker
Jan. 23: The New England Revolution have acquired Ecuadorian midfielder-forward Cristian Penilla on loan from Pachuca for the 2018 season.
New England will retain a purchase option on the 26-year-old for the 2019 season.
Penilla has made more than 200 appearances in his eight-year professional career, which has included stops in Mexico, Brazil and Ecuador.
Rapids acquire New Zealand defender Smith
Jan. 22: The Colorado Rapids have signed New Zealand international Tommy Smith from Ipswich Town.
A 27-year-old center back, Smith has earned 32 caps for New Zealand after representing England at the Under-17 and U-18 levels.
"Bringing in someone of Tommy's caliber along the back line was a top priority for us this offseason," Rapids general manager Padraig Smith said in a news release. "His experience and leadership will be great assets for us, and we look forward to him joining us in Arizona this week for the start of preseason training camp."
Impact sign Algeria international Taider as DP
Jan. 22: The Montreal Impact have signed Algeria international Saphir Taider as a designated player on loan from Serie A side Bologna.
LA Galaxy add USMNT winger Pontius
Jan. 22: The LA Galaxy have signed U.S. national team winger Chris Pontius as a free agent.
Chilean attacker Vargas joins Impact
Jan. 22: The Montreal Impact have signed Chilean attacking midfielder Jeisson Vargas from Universidad Catolica.
Vargas, 20, has inked a deal through the 2018 season that also includes two and a half option years.
Impact add French defender Diallo
Jan. 20: The Montreal Impact have signed French defender Zakaria Diallo to a two-year deal.
The 31-year-old center back, who will help fill the void left by Laurent Ciman's move to Los Angeles FC, was named to the Ligue 2 Team of the Year for the 2016-17 campaign with Brest.
Galaxy send Zardes to Columbus for Kamara
Jan. 20: The Columbus Crew have acquired U.S. national team forward Gyasi Zardes and $400,000 in targeted allocation money from the LA Galaxy in exchange for Norway international Ola Kamara.
Atlanta United signs Barco in record deal
Jan. 19: Atlanta United has signed 18-year-old Ezequiel Barco from Argentina side Independiente in a record-breaking deal.
Barco reportedly cost $15 million, the largest transfer fee ever paid by an MLS club. The Argentina U-20 international broke the record set when Toronto FC spent $10M on Michael Bradley in 2013.
Union trade for Accam
Jan. 19: The Philadelphia Union have acquired attacker David Accam from the Chicago Fire in a draft-day trade.
The Fire will receive $1.2 million in allocation money — $300,000 in general and $900,000 in targeted allocation money — making it one of the most expensive deals ever between MLS clubs.
Dynamo acquire Ceren from Earthquakes
Jan. 19: The Houston Dynamo have acquired El Salvador midfielder Darwin Ceren from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for $100,000 in general allocation money and $75,000 in targeted allocation money.
The 28-year-old has made 76 MLS appearances with Orlando City and San Jose since coming to the league in 2015.
Union add homegrown defender
Jan. 18: The Philadelphia Union have added Mark McKenzie as a homegrown player, the club announced on Thursday.
The 18-year-old played for Wake Forest last season and has experience playing with the club's USL side Bethlehem Steel FC.
Sporting KC adds Argentine defender on loan
Jan. 18: Sporting Kansas City added defender Emiliano Amor on loan for the 2018 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The 22-year-old moves to MLS from Velez Sarsfield, where he spent his entire career up to this point.
“Emiliano is a young defender we have watched closely, and his arrival gives us another valuable piece along the back line,” SKC manager Peter Vermes said in team release. “We are excited for him to join the club for preseason in Arizona.”
Beasley signs new Dynamo deal
Jan. 18: Free agent DaMarcus Beasley has signed a new deal with the Houston Dynamo that will see the defender return to the club for the 2018 season.
"I am excited about having DaMarcus back because he is a true leader and a role model. He demonstrates his professionalism in the way he takes care of himself, and the way he behaves on and off the field is important,” said Dynamo head coach Wilmer Cabrera in a team release. “In the locker room, he is a point of reference for all his teammates. As a player, he still delivers quality and a proficient level of soccer, ideas, talent and we need that this season.”
Impact sign Michael Petrasso
Jan. 18: The Montreal Impact have announced the signing of Canadian national team midfielder Michael Petrasso, who recently left QPR.
Goal first reported the deal on Jan. 14.
Vancouver signs Juarez from Monterrey
Jan. 18: The Vancouver Whitecaps have announced the signing of midfielder/defender Efrain Juarez.
Juarez, 29, joins from Liga MX side Monterrey. The former Mexico national team player was signed using targeted allocation money and his contract runs through 2019, with a club option for 2020.
Fire send Lindley to Orlando for Ramos
Jan. 18: Orlando City has acquired the homegrown rights to midfielder Cam Lindley from the Chicago Fire, signing him to a professional deal and sending defender Rafael Ramos and $100,000 in targeted allocation money the other way.
Lindley, 20, joins Orlando City after two standout seasons at the University of North Carolina. He has featured for U.S. at various youth national team levels, most recently at the U-20 national team training camp in July 2016.
Ramos, 23, appeared in 39 league matches for Orlando City between 2015 and 2017, tallying five assists from his right back position.
Fire re-sign Schweinsteiger
Jan. 17: Bastian Schweinsteiger has signed a new contract with the Chicago Fire, the MLS outfit confirmed Wednesday night.
The 33-year-old signed a designated player deal with the club for the 2018 season.
Blake staying with Philadelphia
Jan. 17: Goalkeeper Andre Blake has re-signed with the Philadelphia Union on a multi-year contract.
"It is a priority for us to build and secure the foundation of the Philadelphia Union, and Andre is as big a part of that foundation as any player," said Union sporting director Earnie Stewart in a club release. "Ensuring he will be here for years to come is an important step for our club. We’re delighted to sign him to a new multi-year contract and would like to thank him for his dedication and hard work."
Montero moves to Sporting CP
Jan. 17: Sporting CP announced the signing of forward Fredy Montero.
Montero spent last season with the Vancouver Whitecaps, where he played on loan from Chinese side Tianjin Teda.
The move is a return to Portugal for the Colombian, who played for Sporting from July 2013 to February 2016.
Whitecaps midfielder Jacobson retires
Jan. 17: Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Andrew Jacobson announced his retirement Wednesday.
Across a 10-year career Jacobson played for four different MLS teams and spent time in Europe with French side Lorient and Norwegian club Stabaek.
Earthquakes land Quintana on loan
Jan. 17: The San Jose Earthquakes have announced the signing of Uruguayan defender Yeferson Quintana on a season-long loan.
Signed from Uruguayan power Penarol, the 21-year-old scored three goals and added two assists in 29 appearances for the South American side in 2017.
"Yeferson fits the profile of the player we wanted to add at this position," Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli said in a team release. "His arrival will also give us different options as to how our defense will line up next season. Yeferson has a strong presence in both phases of the game, which makes him an important addition to our defensive line."
LAFC adds MLS veteran Mallace
Jan. 17: Expansion side Los Angeles FC has signed veteran midfielder Calum Mallace, who was selected by the club in the MLS re-entry draft.
The signing of Mallace, who spent last season with the Montreal Impact and Seattle Sounders, brings LAFC's roster to 12 players ahead of Friday's MLS SuperDraft.
SKC signs UNC forward Wright
Jan. 17: Sporting Kansas City has signed University of North Carolina forward Zach Wright to a homegrown player contract.
Wright is the seventh homegrown signing in Sporting KC history. A Texas native, Wright signed a one-year deal with options for three more seasons.
"Zach showed a lot of improvement at North Carolina after playing for the academy," SKC director of player personnel Brian Bliss in a club release. "We are excited for him to start competing with the team during the preseason."
RSL adds American defender Barry
Jan. 17: Real Salt Lake has signed American defender Shawn Barry from Polish side Korona Kielce.
The 27-year-old signed with Austrian side LASK Linz in 2010, spending five seasons with the club before joining lower-level German side FSV Frankfurt in 2015. He signed with Korona Kielce this past summer, making six appearances for the club.
"He's got some great professional experience and can play multiple positions along the back line," RSL general manager Craig Waibel said in a news release. "He's a guy that can challenge guys on the roster on a weekly basis for playing time. He's a strong, athletic guy who can pass well out of the back. His midrange passing is phenomenal. He trends more to the way the staff wants to play."
Timbers sign Polo on loan from Morelia
Jan. 17: The Portland Timbers have signed Peru international Andy Polo on loan from Liga MX side Monarcas Morelia. Full details here .
Dynamo land Venezuelan defender Fuenmayor
Jan. 16: The Houston Dynamo have signed Venezuelan defender Alejandro Fuenmayor.
The 21-year-old joins from Venezuelan top-flight side Carabobo, where he helped the club qualify for its first Copa Libertadores.
"Alejandro is a young and talented defender who at just 21 years old has already played over 70 professional first team matches," Dynamo general manager Matt Jordan said in a news release. "We are confident that he has the quality as a player and the mentality as a professional to grow and develop with our club. He is a welcomed addition to the Houston Dynamo and will strengthen our back line right away."
Beckerman returns to Real Salt Lake
Jan. 16: Veteran midfielder Kyle Beckerman has returned to Real Salt Lake for a 12th season with the club.
The 35-year-old U.S. international was eligible for free agency but ultimately decided to sign a new multi-year contract with RSL.
"This is home. It's where we wanted to be," Beckerman said in a news release. "What we built in the second half of the season was so exciting to be a part of. To be able to be here for a couple more years and build with these young guys — they are going to be another year older and a little bit more experienced — there is a lot of upside for this team."
Orlando signs Kaka replacement
Jan. 15: Orlando City has signed Paraguay youth international Josue Colman to a five-year deal, the club announced Monday. Full story here .
NYCFC adds attacking midfielder
Jan. 12: New York City FC has announced the transfer of attacking midfielder Ismael Tajouri from Austria Wien.
The 23-year-old made 36 appearances for the Austrian champions in 2016-17, scoring 10 goals.
Tajouri is NYCFC's sixth offseason addition, following Cedric Hountondji, Jesus Medina, Saad Abdul-Salaam, Brad Stuver and Anton Tinnerholm.
Barco exit confirmed amid links to Atlanta

Jan. 11: New York City FC has signed defender Cedric Hountondji on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old center back comes to NYCFC from Gazelec Ajaccio in France and came up through the Rennes youth system.
He is a Benin international, though he represented France at the youth level.
Revolution add French midfielder Zahibo
Jan. 11: The New England Revolution have signed French central midfielder Wilfried Zahibo, who most recently played for second-tier Spanish side Gimnastic de Tarragona.
The 24-year-old began his career with French club Ajaccio before stints in Spain with Fuenlabrada, Valencia and Gimnastic.
Rapids announce Castillo signing
Jan. 9: The Colorado Rapids have signed U.S. national team left back Edgar Castillo on a one-year loan from Monterrey, with an option to buy following the 2018 campaign.
Castillo, 31, has spent his entire career in Liga MX, playing for Santos Laguna, Club America, Tigres, San Luis, Puebla, Club Tijuana, Atlas and Monterrey. He has earned 18 caps, most recently appearing for the U.S. in March 2016.
RSL signs Wales international Henley
Jan. 9: Real Salt Lake has announced the signing of former Blackburn Rovers fullback Adam Henley.

Jan. 9: Former D.C. United midfielder Perry Kitchen has signed with the LA Galaxy after his rights were acquired from D.C. United.

Jan. 9: Minnesota United has announced the signing of Cameroon international attacker Frantz Pangop, who joins from Union Douala.

Jan. 9: The Columbus Crew have acquired midfielder Eduardo Sosa as a discovery signing from Venezuelan club Zamora.
Sosa, 21, has made 59 appearances (38 starts) for Zamora, scoring eight goals and adding six assists since his first-team debut in 2013.

Jan. 8: The Colorado Rapids are set to sign English midfielder Jack Price from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Championship side has confirmed .

Jan. 5: Real Salt Lake has signed forward Corey Baird as a homegrown player after he spent four seasons at Stanford, winning three national championships.
The 21-year-old has been capped by the U.S. at the U-20 and U-23 level. Baird notched 16 goals and 28 assists in his four years at Stanford while appearing in 77 total matches.

Jan. 3: Wake Forest products Kevin Politz and Brandon Servania have signed homegrown deals with the New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas, respectively.
A center back, Politz joins the Red Bulls after earning ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2017.
Servania, meanwhile, provided three goals and 11 assists out of midfield for the Demon Deacons this past fall.

Dec. 30: Former Colorado Rapids midfielder Mohammed Saeid announced on social media that he has signed with Danish club Lyngby Boldklub .

Dec. 29: The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired Danny Hoesen on a permanent transfer from Dutch side Gronigen and signed him using targeted allocation money.
The 26-year-old spent the 2017 season on loan with San Jose. He scored five goals and had five assists in 32 MLS appearances.

Dec. 27: Orlando City has acquired Libyan left back Mohamed El-Munir and former LA Galaxy midfielder-forward Jose Villarreal.

Dec. 22: The Vancouver Whitecaps have landed defender Doneil Henry through MLS' allocation process.
The 24-year-old comes to Vancouver after three years with West Ham in England, having moved there after starting his career with Toronto FC.

Dec. 18: Orlando City has acquired defender R.J. Allen from New York City FC, signed NASL standout Stefano Pinho and inked midfielder Dillon Powers to a new deal.
The Lions sent a third-round pick in the 2018 draft to NYCFC in exchange for Allen, who had spent the past three seasons with the club. Pinho, meanwhile, arrives after most recently playing for NASL side Miami FC, having earned the league's Golden Ball and Golden Boot honors each of the past two seasons.
Powers, who had been out of contract, returns for the 2018 campaign after joining Orlando in a midseason trade from the Colorado Rapids.
Galaxy acquire Bingham from 'Quakes
Dec. 18: The LA Galaxy have acquired the rights to U.S. national team goalkeeper David Bingham from the San Jose Earthquakes.

Dec. 15: The Colorado Rapids selected Mike Grella and Tyrone Mears is headed to Minnesota United, with both players taken in stage 1 of the 2017 MLS re-entry draft.
While the Rapids chose Grella, the midfielder was dealt almost immediately to the Columbus Crew, who sent a second-round pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft to Colorado in exchange for his services. .

Dec. 14: LAFC continued to shape its roster Thursday by signing Diego Rossi as the second youngest designated player in MLS history.

Dec. 12: In the most interesting and biggest move of the half-day trade window, Sporting KC and Atlanta United worked out a four-player deal that included Kenwyne Jones.
Jones announced his retirement in November , but was part of a deal on Sunday that saw him, along with goalkeeper Alexander Tambakis and a natural fourth-round pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, dealt to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for midfielder Kevin Oliveira, defender Tyler Pasher and Sporting KC’s natural second-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
Dyanmo land Arturo Alvarez from Fire
Dec. 12: The Houston Dynamo traded for Arturo Alvarez on Sunday, sending the club's natural second-round pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft to the Chicago Fire.
A Houston native who played his international soccer for El Salvador, his parents' birth country, Alvarez is a 12-year MLS veteran who played 25 times for the Fire last season, making 13 starts.
New York City FC trades Brillant to D.C. United
Dec. 12: D.C. United has picked up defender Frederic Brillant, sending $75,000 in general allocation money and a 2018 international roster spot to New York City FC in the deal.
Since joining in 2016, Brillant has played 58 times for New York and was a regular in the heart of the club's defense.
Atlanta trades Harrison Heath to Minnesota United
Dec. 12: Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath will be joined at the club by his son, Harrison Heath, after the club pulled off a trade with Atlanta United to land the younger member of the Heath family.
