Warmth hangs on in the Southeast, returns to the Plainsnews AccuWeather
The eastward push of dry air is coming to a halt and the warm, muggy, summery tropical air will return to area west of the Mississippi by the end of the workweek. Aside from a pocket of cooler air pushing into some areas near the East Coast for a time, it will remain warm and humid for until Sunday. Another cold front will move through starting Sunday, and this time the more comfortable air will reach most of the South. Out in the tropics, we're still tracking Ophelia, but it's no worry for us. There are two other critters to track out there but neither will develop in the near future. We'll have to watch the Caribbean in a week or so, though.
