Trump Lawyer Arranged $130,000 Payout to Adult Film Actress in 2016 (Report)news+ The Hollywood Reporter — Katie Kilkenny
A lawyer for President Donald Trump arranged a $130,000 payment to a former adult film actress in October 2016 as part of a nondisclosure agreement preventing her from talking about an alleged encounter Trump, according to a new report in the Wall Street Journal.
The former adult film star, Stephanie Clifford (stage name: Stormy Daniels), has "privately alleged" that a sexual encounter took place after she met Trump at a golf tournament at Lake Tahoe in 2006, some time after Trump married Melania Knavs in 2005.
Lawyer Michael Cohen, who was a top lawyer at the Trump Organization for years, negotiated the nondisclosure agreement in October 2016, a month before the 2016 election, the Journal reported. The Journal did not confirm whether Trump knew about an agreement with or payment to Clifford.
In November 2016, the Journal reported that Clifford had been in talks for months to appear on Good Morning America in the fall of 2016 to discuss Trump.
However, by November, "Ms. Clifford cut off contact with the network without telling her story. She didn’t respond to requests for comment," the Journal reported.
More to come.
