Steve Harvey‘s ex-wife claims the talk show host wrecked her soul and subjected her to torture during their nine-year union, in a new lawsuit filed Wednesday.

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Mary L. Vaughn, claims she suffered from “prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering,” resulting in a suicide attempt “by self-medicating [in] an effort to stop the pain.”

Harvey, 60, wed Vaughn in 1996, two years after splitting from his wife of 14 years, Marcia Harvey. The pair endured a nasty divorce in 2005, two years prior to his third marriage to current wife Majorie Bridges.

Vaughn made several damning accusations against Harvey in the suit, including alleged child endangerment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, kidnapping, torture, breach of contract, conspiracy against rights and “soul murdering.”

TMZ also noted Wednesday the suit was not filed by a lawyer, but a “civil rights activist.”

Vaughn was arrested for contempt of court in 2013 for violating the conditions of a gag order from the divorce. She served 30 days in jail.

She and Harvey share one child together, son Wynton Harvey, 19.

A rep for Harvey did not immediately return a request for comment.
