Cyndi Lauper has built her career around themes of self-acceptance and self-expression. When she learned about the crisis of youth homelessness in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, she knew it was time to organize. That’s why she started the True Colors Fund to help support LGBT youth across the country and work toward a world where everyone can be their true selves.

Out of a total of 1.6 million young people experiencing homelessness in America, up to 40% identify as LGBT. The True Colors Fund’s goal is to end homelessness among LGBT youth. In addition, each year the True Colors Fund's True Fellows program creates opportunities for LGBT young people who've experienced homelessness to collaborate on solutions for this issue, creating a more inclusive world through community action and advocacy.

As one of the most consistently LGBT-friendly workplaces since the 1970s, AT&T feels a commitment to honoring the work that LGBT community members and allies are doing to make the world a safer, more inclusive place. That’s why we’ve chosen to partner with the True Colors Fund for our AT&T Live Proud Holidays campaign.

Lauper’s passion about helping LGBT young people thrive is something we’re inspired by. That’s why we’re throwing our full support behind the True Colors Fund and its mission. In 2017, AT&T is giving $100,000 to the True Colors Fund to help expand the True Fellows program and present the Home for the Holidays benefit concert.

Cyndi Lauper and AT&T are trying to be part of the solution, but we can’t do it alone. This holiday season, you can help create a better future for our LGBT young people. Find out what you can do to help by visiting True Colors Fund
